Internal Theft at a Small Manufacturing Plant

A family-owned manufacturing plant in Limpopo began noticing materials going missing in small amounts — just enough to escape notice at first, but adding up to serious loss over time. Stock checks were constantly “just off.” But there were no security breaches. Just unanswered questions.

They reached out to us for clarity.

We conducted voluntary polygraph tests with the warehouse and line workers. Sessions were handled with sensitivity, and confidentiality was maintained at all times.

The tests identified one employee who was covertly removing materials and reselling them to a competitor. Once confronted, the worker admitted everything. Legal action followed, and the plant was able to tighten controls moving forward.

Even in a close-knit team, objective truth keeps things honest.
